FASHIONCLASH is part of MaastrichtYear with TexTiles. Inspired by the Maastricht Treaty (1992) hundreds of residents are creating a large textile tapestry for Plein 1992. Each participant designs a 40 x 40 cm tile. Together, the tiles form a collective artwork showing how Maastricht views Europe today.

Join the (free) workshops
The Pop-Up Atelier on the third floor of Centre Céramique is an interactive workspace led by local makers. You can choose from two types of workshops:
Design a 40 x 40 cm tile expressing a thought, opinion, or feeling about Europe. Materials are provided, and our workshop leaders will combine your tile with the others to form the large TexTiles tapestry. The created TexTiles can also be viewed as an exhibition during the Pop-Up Atelier period.
Design an outfit, flag, or object inspired by your ideas about Europe. Your creation will be shown during the fashion show
on 7 June.

The highlight is the BlockParty at Plein 1992, a free contemporary neighborhood festival where the full textile tapestry is unveiled, with performances, workshops, and a picnic.

From 14 to 16 November 2025, FASHIONCLASH Festival returned for its 17th edition. Taking place at several locations throughout Maastricht, this international and multidisciplinary fashion festival provided a stage for a new generation of designers, artists, and performers from the Netherlands and over 25 countries worldwide.
