The FASHIONCLASH Festival 2023 campaign

We are thrilled to share the campaign for the 15th edition of FASHIONCLASH Festival, that came to life in co-creation with young people (8 – 24) during a series of workshops at Centre Céramique.

1. Model: Eleonora, Outfit: Eleonora (dress + earrings), Kaat (hat), Tessa (little garden). Sleeves via RD4.
2. Models: Jana (L) & Neema (R), Outfit Jana: Eva (top, skirt), Paulina (hat); outfit Neema: Norah (skirt), Nora (shirt).
3. Model: Yorvique, Outfit: Yorvique (hat, bag, upper body accessory). Pink boiler suit & pearl necklace: models own.

4. Model: Nina, Outfit: Ali (jacket, trousers).
5. Model: Jasmijn, Outfit: Jasmijn (dress and accessory).
6. Models: Anouk (L) & Yorvique (R), Outfit Anouk: Liticia (dress), Outfit Yorvique: Yorvique (hat, bag, upper body accessory). Pink boiler suit: models own. 
7. Model: Queen-Hadiya, Outfit: Bente (dress, necklace, headpiece). Cardigan via Rd4.

We invited them to convert their ideas about identity into an outfit or wearable object during a series of workshops (April - May 2023) taking place in our Pop-Up Atelier at Centre Céramique in Maastricht. In the workshops, participants got the opportunity to experiment with different crafting techniques, such as sewing and upcyling. They were guided by local fashion designers to help them implement their ideas. Most of the materials used were from the FASHIONCLASH archive or provided by the textile sorting center of RD4 Reinigingsdiensten.

Several workshop participants also participated in the photo and video shoot, shot by photographer Laura Knipsael and videographer Steve Iseger of Opulence Films, where they got the chance to discover their modeling and performance skills. They all really took the stage, some of them with little to no experience!

About FASHIONCLASH Festival

FASHIONCLASH Festival is an initiative of the Maastricht (The Netherlands) based FASHIONCLASH Foundation, an interdisciplinary showcase and development platform and a worldwide network of new generation fashion makers and (performing) artists. Since 2009, FASHIONCLASH has realized more than 250 projects, in the Netherlands and abroad, and provided a stage and support for more than 1500 artists and designers from all over the world.

FASHIONCLASH Festival is taking place from 17-19 November 2023 at various locations in Maastricht.
