Makes Sense

As a human and a designer, Iza van den Baar is always engaged with social topics. Although her projects express clear subjects, they still remain layered. What she considers to be essential in her work is evolving connections between people. She likes to express her work through various mediums, but uses textiles as a foundation. For several years now, she has been using only recycled materials as much as possible.

The graduation project ‘Makes Sense’ of Iza van den Baar is about combining two different aspects that are most important in her life: cooking and fashion. The work revolves around stimulating the viewer's senses and illustrates that it is indeed possible to combine two very different passions. Both food and fashion appeal to different stimuli, creating an unexpected, aesthetic, multi-sensory experience.
