SIDE PROGRAM 11 - 14 June various locations in Maastricht
Side Program is an accompanying program spread across various locations in Maastricht with pop-up stores, exhibitions, lectures and events in selected boutiques and cultural spots in Maastricht. Most of the locations are accessible for free and open for public during the opening times indicated by the locations. In some locations, you need a ticket, they will be provided by the venue.

Showpieces is a brand new feature to FASHIONCLASH Festival, an multidisciplinary exhibition that shows the art of fashion. As the name says, Showpieces is a showcase where each designer exhibits one design that represents his/her work.

Meet the Maker #2 at Bureau Europa -> Boschstraat 9 ‘Meet the Maker’ is a project by Bureau Europa in a collaboration with NOTO design studio in Maastricht. At Museum aan het Vrijthof you can visit several gender related installation by young theater performers, designers and artists. Furthermore MIJNshop/MIJNcollectie project will be on display.

MIJNshop & MIJNcollectie, June 8 -14 The MIJNshop, a pop-up store giving new life to a previously vacant building in the centre of Heerlen, is the place to discover (and purchase) the MIJNcollectie: design clothing inspired by miners’ clothing. For the Year of Mines (M2015 ) SCHUNCK* initiates an 'update' of the old miners' clothing, in cooperation with Stichting M2015, 100% Heerlen and FASHIONCLASH. The three young designers from Limburg, Linda Friesen, Ebby Port and Gabriel Guevera present their contemporary version of miners clothing as a second skin for Heerlen. The MIJNcollectie will be on show in Museum aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht from 8 to 14 June during the FASHIONCLASH Festival, and from 3 to 13 July in the Tolhuistuin in Amsterdam throughout the Amsterdam FashionWeek.

These speeddates are meant for (young) designers and professionals from the fashion-industry to get in touch with one another. Through this we offer the designers an opportunity to get in contact with professionals who represent all the aspects of the fashion-world.

"Gender Codes in the 20th century" an exhibtion at Bonnefanten Museum curated selection from MMH Modemuseum Hasselt archive -> Avenue Ceramique 50
With this unique pop-up exhibition at Bonnefantenmuseum we present a curated selection of historical gender-theme related fashion costumes. The exhibition features iconic pieces by legendary designer such as Yves Saint Laurent, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Paul Smith and Comme des Garçons. The pieces are from the archives of the Fashion Museum in Hasselt.
Tip: Sunday June 14 at 2 p.m., guided visit to this exhibition with from Branko Popovic, creative co-director FASHIONCLASH.

Outspoken Concept Store, is based in Dutch city ‘s-Hertogenbosch (also known as Den Bosch). The store is located at the space of Galerie Majke Hüsstege, a gallery that exists for more then 40 years. In 2013 Majke Hüsstege (the gallery owner) started a conceptstore in the back of her gallery and expanded her platform for fashion and design talents. The gallery is awarded for Dutch gallery of the year 2014, and has a refined contemporary art collection. De drie jonge Zuid-Limburgse ontwerpers, Linda Friesen, Ebby Port en Gabriel Guevera presenteren hun hedendaagse versie van de mijnwerkerskleding, als 'een tweede huid' voor Heerlen.

Bonnefantenmuseum, Avenue Ceramique 250 - expo “Gendercodes in fashion throughout the 20th century” Met deze unieke pop-up expositie presenteren we een serie historische mode kostuums gerelateerd aan het thema gender. Je kunt hier o.a. iconische stukken bewonderen van ontwerpers zoals Yves Saint Laurent, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Paul Smith en Comme des Garçons. De stukken zijn afkomstig uit het archief van het Modemuseum in Hasselt.
Tip: Zondag 14 juni om 14 uur, kunt u deze expo bezoeken met een rondleiding van Branko Popovic, creative co-directeur FASHIONCLASH.

The Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and Design(MAFAD), is part of the Faculty of Art Maastricht and Zuyd University of applied sciences. The Bachelor of Fine Arts and the bachelor Design offers their students a challenging learning environment with outstanding ateliers, exceptional studio facilities and a vast array of different perspectives within a wide spectrum of arts and design. MAFAD is the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and Design, school that also shaped the founders/directors of FASHIONCLASH foundation.
